The 24 carat gold Natura coins of South Africa have experienced astounding numismatic success worldwide since its launch in 1994. Each Natura coin was minted to showcase a South African animal.

The Natura coin series

Natura Eland Prestige Set 2007 – Part of the “Giants of Africa” set, the Natura Eland coins depict the largest antelope in South Africa: the Eland.
Natura Eland 1oz Gold 2007 – This gold coin forms part of the prestige set for 2007 and has a mintage of 1 500.
Natura Hippo Prestige Set 2005 – Featured in the “Giants of Africa” series, these gold coins showcase the Hippopotamus.
Natura Lion Prestige Set 2003 – Modelled by Master Engraver, Arthur Sutherland, these coins depict the royal family of South Africa’s animal kingdom. Featured on the obverse side of the coin are a male and his alpha female, while on the reverse there are scenes from the daily lives of the pride.
Natura Lion 1/10oz Gold Coin 2003 – Portraying lions drinking water, these coins are sold with a certificate and both are packaged inside a leather box. Only 3,000 were made.
Natura Gemsbok Prestige set 2001 – This set, also known as the Oryx, consists of 24 carat gold coins depicting Gemsbok.
Natura Buffalo 1oz Gold 1997 – This is the fourth coin in the Natura coin series. It depicts the head of a buffalo bull on the obverse and on the reverse side there are characteristic scenes from a buffalo’s life in the wild.
EWT Rhino Set – This coin set consists of a 2009 1/2oz White Rhino gold coin, 2010 1/2oz Black Rhino gold coin as well as the 1/4oz EWT gold medallion.
