The Natura Lion Prestige Set 2003 contains 4 gold coins minted in proof quality. This set has a mintage of only 700 and is packaged in a stinkwood box.

The Natura Lion Prestige Set 2003 consists of the following gold coins:

  • R100 1oz gold coin - Head of a male lion (mintage 1,500)
  • R50 1/2oz gold coin- Confrontation (mintage 1,500)
  • R20 1/4oz gold coin- Lioness with cubs (mintage 2,000)
  • R10 1/10oz gold coin - Drinking water (mintage 3,000)

The lion is the second cat to be portrayed in this Natura range. A beautiful portrayal of  a long maned male and his alpha female n a classic setting on the obverse of the 4 coins. The reverse of these coins feature the pride in various scenes of their daily lives. The obverse common to all four coins that make up the set was modeled by now retired Master Engraver, Arthur Sutherland.
